Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Can Medicaid or a waiver cover my meals?
Your Medicaid or waiver program may cover home-delivered meals. Your plan or service coordinator confirms eligibility and meal authorization. Take the quick quiz, then request a call for help with the next step.
Can I order if I don't have waiver coverage?
Ask our team about private-pay availability. You can browse meal examples here; online checkout is not available.
Does the quiz approve me for benefits?
No. The quiz gives general next steps. Your program or health plan makes the eligibility decision.
How do I start service for someone I care for?
Take the quiz with their state in mind, then request a call using your own name and phone number. Our team can explain the intake and authorization process.
Meals
What kinds of meals can I receive?
Meals Direct offers hot, frozen and specialty fresh meals. Your available menu depends on your area and service arrangement.
Can I choose a cuisine?
Tell us which dishes you enjoy. Our menus include American, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Soul Food, Italian and Middle Eastern choices. Ask which options are available for your service.
Can you accommodate my dietary needs?
Some accommodations may be available. Speak with our team about ingredients and dietary requirements before selecting meals.
Can a photo confirm whether a meal is safe for my allergy?
No. Staff must review the current ingredients and your specific request. Do not rely on a photo or dish name for allergy safety.
Delivery
How often will my meals arrive?
Delivery frequency depends on the authorized meal quantity, meal format and route. Our team confirms your schedule before service starts.
When will my first delivery arrive?
Staff confirms your start date after the required paperwork and authorization are reviewed. A callback request does not schedule a delivery.
Who can help with an existing delivery?
Call our office and ask for help with your current service. Staff can review delivery questions and route your request to the right department.
How do I change my address or meal selection?
Contact our team. A change takes effect only after authorized staff confirms it. The website callback form does not change your account.
Contact
What are your office hours?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New Jersey and New York: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM Eastern. Allentown: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM Eastern. Offices are closed on weekends.
Can I request a call after hours?
Yes. Leave your name and phone number in the callback form. Our team can follow up during office hours.
How do service coordinators make a referral?
Contact the Service Coordinator Department for referrals, documentation, authorization and client setup. Staff will explain the required paperwork.
Where do I send required paperwork?
Ask staff for the approved submission process. The callback form does not accept documents.
Can I use the website in another language?
Choose a language at the top of the page. The website offers 11 language choices. Ask our team about available language assistance by phone.
What happens when I request a call?
Your contact details are sent to the Meals Direct follow-up team. Quiz answers are not sent. Requesting a call does not enroll you in a service or subscribe you to marketing texts.
